| The latest incumbent of the chair of Philadelphia Lodge of Installed Royal Ark Mariner Commanders No 1646 is William Swindlehurst. |
| The ceremony took place at Preston Masonic Hall in the presence of Assistant provincial Grand Master and holder of Royal Ark Mariner Grand Rank John Bicknell. John was accompanied by provincial assistant directors of ceremony Terry Dickinson and John Dean. |

| Unforeseen circumstances meant the Immediate Past Master Geoff Waters was called upon to take on the role of installing Commander. The short notice meant that much of the work had to be read, however Geoff endeavoured to relate the words with emphasis and sincerity. He deserves great credit for a job well done. John took to the floor to orate the exposition of the order. It was a delight to listen to. |

| Lodge director of ceremonies Phil Watson rose to the challenges which the day provided for him and assured that the meeting went ahead with decorum and dignity. He was ably assisted by his assistant Derek Horrocks. |
